I believe that when the tournament director changed the length of the match IT WAS HIS RESPONSIBILITY to be sure there was no misunderstanding and that his opponent was well aware of this. Therefore, the match should continue to 7 if there is any doubt.

As for checker the score, between games, IT IS BOTH PLAYER'S responsibility to see that there is no misunderstanding, so when I announce what I believe is the score, I ALWAYS make sure my opponent agrees before moving on.
