How do you get to the /1,25 in the formular?
I don't understand the question.
If you want to ask why is 1,25 used and not some other value - there was "test tournament" in which I used various methods - "pure" var-red, var-red with score cap, and various reductions (1,25, 1,5 and 2,0) of var-red with score cap.
I liked the best results from the method that is currently used.
WIthout deep thinking I like it, luck favourite in the 60% example gets 0.68 points instead of 0.48 if he loses, so winning is still the goal.Yes, that was the goal - winning is still important. And weaker players do have a chance to win more points (be better placed) than in "pure" var-red.
But, if you look at the table of current 1800+ tournament - you can check ratings of players in the third round - skill is still accentuated, even with 1,25 factor.
Have you ever crosschecked the 4ply luck results with mwc based on cost to see how much closer (if any) the luck results are to the real results?I don't know how to check MWC based on cost in XG. But if somebody knows how to do it and wants match files to do it - let me know :)
