recube vig

That's a lot of questions for me just waking up. If John O'Hagan (nudge, nudge ...or someone) hasn't sufficiently answered these I'll come back later and do so. I did want to take a second though and give what I think is the most useful answer for everyone out there that requires no math.

Your dead cube take point as you know for money is 25%. Roughly your live cube take point is ~21.5%. That means in a money game and most normal match scores cube ownership is going to be worth around 3.5%. You're right that the cube leverage in certain types of games is worth more than others and you can adjusted based on that. For example in a really long race it might worth a little bit more and in a short race it will be worth a lot less, depending on how short is short to you.

I imagine that the holding game will yild the smallest amount of recube vig since your race is usually crap so you have to hit a shot which will usually be a market loser so you don't get much chance of recubing in.

Holding games are typically takes because you have shot vig and racing vig. Neither one of these alone is enough to make the position a take but the combined equity does so I wouldn't discount the recube vig too much unless you're toast in the race and your board is an automatic winner. There will be times when you hit that shot and your board is not perfect but it's 'good enough' to cash the position. The cube still has its use here but if when you hit the shot you have a closed board you're right, the cube is nearly worthless.

That's all for now, I'll come back late to explain 70% cube efficiency (I think XG uses 66% Xavier said at one point) and the like unless John does it. (double nudge)
