I love the OLMs (this one and Kit's) but a personal dislike is recurring themes within them because it's hard to keep your own thoughts when those of others (sometimes including those of bots) are buzzing around your head. (Parallel to why I personally don't use bot 'tutor' modes.) I can (and will) review after we get out of this sequence. Maybe I'll continue to be outvoted, and some (or even most) will consider that a positive occurrence. Still, the last thing I'm going to let happen is to be swayed in the middle of an election by popular opinion.
Today I persist in wanting to hold the outside points but also to keeping some kind of homeboard for 'defensive' tactics. Noting that after keeping the 8-point and holding one on our 6-point, our only forced blot next roll is 6-1. After 6/4, 5/2 we at least threaten to make our 6-1 a good roll by allowing it to hit (if opp stays) and cover. Admittedly, with opp owning the cube the cover won't usually help in isolation (i.e. without the hit) if opp sends our remaining checker packing.
6/4, 5/2, not playing to win, but rather to learn.
