Re the diagrams it surprised me too but Skyhorse decided it was cheaper (and quicker) to buy the US rights to "BG to Win" than get their art department to redraw the originals. Maybe they also fancied having an accurate text - after all the original "Backgammon for Blood" is really only of interest to backgammon historians!
