Problem 1 Making the 5-point gives opp 2's to anchor and 3's and 5's to hit. 61, 64, and 41 make homeside points and the three doublets do either one or two really good things. Hitting takes away at least some of those good rolls. 6/4*, 24/23

Problem 2 Even after hitting White will have a lot of work to do. Slotting the 5-point has merits if it weren't for the wasted five that accompanies it. 14/6

Problem 3 Someone could write a book on the enigmatic 18-point game. Blue has made three positional improvements to White's one lovers leap escape, yet it feels like White is comfortably in this game. Oh, wait; look at the score. Gotta double. White needs to win ~37% (cubeless) to take this. Not sure but I'm leaning against it. D+P

Problem 4 I doubt I would have considered doubling as Blue without the nudge. 17 hits are strong. White's blot on the acepoint (and weak HB) give Blue the green light to spread out on the 19 wiffs. Still, with all those pips to make up, I can't pull the non-QF trigger. N+T

Problem 5 If Blue passes, what are his MWC's, 4%? That would make the takepoint here 1/15 = 7% MWC. I count 8 immediate shots so 7% of the time Blue gets sent to the bar in the immediate exchange. (White doesn't win all of those, partly because of the yet-to-be-closed board but also because of Blue's borne off checkers. Many of Blue's (immediate) safe rolls lead to awkwardness in the future. I like the take. Usually the windows are so tight in these positions that the risk/reward for doubling when you feel sure it's a take are bad deals for fragile humans. N+T
