Nomenclature: Please, no "touch move"

There are many rules that I like better than the current one. "Touching means moving" would be fine with me, but apparently there are many players who do not like that. "Shifted to another point means moving" is also fine with me.

I believe that yet another solution is that a player should announce that he is going to look at various options. If you announce "I am going to look at a few things" and then offset the checkers moved clearly, you are also making it easier on your opponent. Maybe some variation of that could be a good compromise.
