Thanks for the link, this is tempting, although I wonder whether the setup might be more attractive to parents than to children. Like Miran said, playing on the same board as the adults is an extra motivation.

The idea of having two adjacent checkers being immune is a nice one for a game with less checkers. I wonder whether it would not be a bit difficult to unlearn later.

What I would definitely change is the rule that you have to bear off with the exact number. Sounds like one of those silly games where whatever happens both players will end up rolling and rolling in order to get their exact numbers.
