The person is question has not even been indicted, so I agree with your sentiment (and I have been very clear about this before). Play the guy, or if you don't want to, forfeit the match and as Adam also says, better do so quietly.

I think from the point of view of legal theory / philosophy (so stepping away from the concrete case, and talking generally), what you say is not true. 'Innocent until proven guilty' is a doctrine that applies to criminal proceedings in court, the defendant is assumed innocent until guilt is proven "beyond reasonable doubt", this is to protect the individual against the might of the state. This relates to criminal law only. But it does not dictate what third parties should think about, and how to act related to the defendant. And sometimes you need to act privately assuming guilt, even without a court case.
