Push has come to shove. There are ways to play this that don't hit (like 1[2] and 13/8, 6/2) but there are a couple reasons I don't like those:

1) they take well-placed builders out of play;

2) they don't exploit opp's vulnerability.

Magriel's safe-vs-bold criteria favor a bold play.
