I'd clear the 6pt and leave a blot on the 8. Opening up early hopefully will allow him to roll off faster and reduce my chances of a late hit. There is risk on staying on the 8pt, but he'd have to roll double 6, I would have to roll one of 2 bad rolls (22,11) and he would have to return the hit. I think allowing him to escape outweighs that risk.
