A few alternative rulings

After thinking about this overnight, I find some fault with the double forfeit, if it occurred after the match was over. It only punishes one of the offenders, the winner of the match. It is no penalty for one of them and a loss of a match win for the other.
Alternative rulings:
(1) The first victory for each does not count-very extreme;
(2) They may each choose to donate some percentage (10%, ???) of their original entry fee to the prize fund or forfeit their first match win(this favors the winner of the first match, but still penalizes him);
(3) They play a match to a length of their choice, not to exceed 5 points, during the dinner break. The loser has his first match win deducted from his record. This, in essence, is a a half-match win forfeit for each of them.
(4)If either wins the tournament(cashes,???), a percentage of their winnings (10 to 15%,???) are deducted and distributed equally to the offended players. It may not be much for each player, but the deduction will be felt.
