I've nothing to add to what Stick and Casper said about the position's features, but if I played this out as Blue "a few dozen times" and "lost every game," I'd be analyzing those games, not just playing them out. Nick's rollout has Blue as winning 27% cubeless, so Blue should be winning at least 30% of the time holding the cube. Playing it out + analyzing = bonanza!
