The straggler counts. White's EPC is about 44.

Black's wastage is indeed huge! Start from the flat (closeout) position, which wastes 10. Morph that into Black's position here by playing 6/5(2) 4/3 4/2. Gapping on the four point is awful; it actually makes Black's position worse, in spite of gaining three pips. It therefore increases Black's wastage by at least 3. Charge Black about 1 for 6/5(2), and you've got wastage of over 14, and an EPC of over 51.

What's Black's point of last (money) take here, 46? 47? Black can take a pip or so deeper at score, but it's not close. This is a huge pass.
