Now looking at the data, I notice that 10% of the time, you won't bear off anything at all. This could understandably make you blue.

Here is my advice for RealNick: If you find that you get blue while bearing off to the left, then try bearing off straight ahead and see if that helps.

Stick knows far more than I about this subject (and about most other subjects as well). He has informed us that he frequently practices bearing off.

Now, to address the problem at hand. For White to win, she must (1)safety her outfield blot, (2) clear this 8pt while usually not owning her 5pt, (3) clear her 7pt while usually not owning her 5pt, (4) clear her 6pt while usually not owning her 5pt and (5) then win from there.

Quite a parlay!
