Problem 1 Just your garden variety 72 pip lead -- why not try for the Guinness Book of Records? "When in doubt, hit" and "first rule of defending a backgame is to make sure opp is in one" are common axioms, but I like the backwoods, tobacky chewing "points is points" and the least known "if you want to give your opp a great backgame, send back the sixth checker (into your one point board) so he can make a 3rd point". 13/9, 8/7
Problem 2 Haven't seen a WDF problem lately, but maybe I just did. Since I'm known for making 'play C', I have to admit I don't have a clue what 'play A' and 'play' B are. 13/7, 13/11*
Problem 3 Do I even want the 11-point? The 14-point always seems to be a hassle to clear, though, and I can do that sorta cleanly now. That makes 14/9 an option. 13/8, the "save your braincells for later" move is also in the running. I used to have a tendency to force the action when waiting quietly was the right course. Where's the pendulum today? Maybe I'll get a hint at that answer. 13/8
