Seems to me that 16/8 gets you more shots, even with the indirects after fourteen threes. There are a lot of 6-x and 5-x rolls (x not a 3 or doublet). Those give you single shot plus.

It's almost never right to break the board in these types of positions. I'm just assuming that rule is fast here.
