The explanation for #2 misses the point.

Position 2.

It is a safe bet that at least 90% of all championship backgammon players would play B/24 6/4, as I did. However, making the 23pt, which faces White's stripped 8pt, is a higher priority. Blue's owning the 23pt will make White's life more difficult if she rolls 31 43 63 54 65 66.

None of that applies in the position below, your play?
