You are playing for him to dance and should make a play that is very strong if he does.
I am not sure if he should double you from the bar, but is it a trivial take, even though he will win the game the majority of the time he comes in, so make the best play for a dance.
I would play b-23, 4-2, 8-6, and then look for my last one. I like 11-9. If he dances after this play, you will have a very strong cube. If he comes in you will likely lose, but will often have a pull to stay in the game.
I considered b-23, 4-2, 11-7, but it is not nearly as good when he dances and 1-6 and 4-3, two of his non-hitting entries become great shakes, instead of poor ones.
Also, note the the blots on the eight and nine point are duplicating some of his good numbers: a 2-6 would hit two checkers whether there is a blot on the 8 or not; a 4-4 would enter and make his bar; likewise for a 4-5. So the extra danger of many blots is an illusion.I think it was Jason Lester that said something along the line of; 'when in doubt make the play that works best when your opponent rolls bad'. I think that applies to this position.
