Gap on 3 pt hardly matters only a little here. Gap on 4 pt is bad, but not horrendous since 4's play to basically open pts. I think that Blue's effective lead is at least the 5 pips shown by the pip count. White's 4 extra checkers are a lot when some of them are on lower points.

R/T as Blue's real lead could be as much as 6 pips.
