Making the 5-point and hitting loose on the 7-point look clear to me. Then we have to decide between safing a checker (7/6) or making the barpoint and paying off to four extra shots (and an extra blot).

Certainly we like the better distribution for building both inside and outside points after making the barpoint, and blocking the acepoint checker is good as well. We're catching up in the race but still a bit behind. Note opp's blot in his HB which also argues for being more aggressive. (4-4 will be a huge swing/horror roll if we choose to make the barpoint.)

Given human nature, there seems to be a bias towards going too safe, particularly at C/pC scores. I'll try and buck that trend, for one day, anyway.
