Oh, I get it. When Gary says, "verifiable," he is referring to an instrument such as the ones you mention.

If, indeed, a well-funded business entity is the guarantor (unclear in this case), and the guarantee is spelled out in a rock-solid contract (also unclear), signed in a jurisdiction where enforcment costs are reasonable (and perhaps reimbursible), I would not ask for more.

As far as the courts of a Caribbean nation are concerned, however, I would rate my chances to recover anything at zero. In case there are any mathematicians reading, let me change "zero" to "finite, but small."
