I would like to make 7/6 5/2* for gammons. Perhaps it even serves us a bit in timing as well as if we pick and pass he just enters and you have maybe some blots to safety or just points to bring home and he just enters too soon. That is however here the least of our considerations right now. I am in doubt, and in doubt I make the dmp play. But because of gammons and you play easier in my view( after you get missed but can not cover you safety off course)the purer play can be right.

By the way( the vote that was closed , and I have seen too late) on position one I think i would play 7/6 5/2. Because this way my rear checkers would be a little better and longer connected to the 8 point . Or that would be my thinking as the other play seems fine as well since you can clear 8 now and hope for doubles as well.
