Tipping etiquette...

Here is the voice of a TD, if anyone cares to listen....

I agree with everything Stick wrote, except for the dinner part. Itīs almost impossible to take the entire staff out to dinner during a tournament. One is always busy, still working during breaks.

I donīt think tips can be EXPECTED. There is a rake (even if never high enough to be rewarding) for what you expect. My staff is paid and I think I am the TD who takes care of his staff the most (again, never enough to make up for the real value of the countless hours of work).

Tips can only be WELCOMED and APPRECIATED. There is no specific amount to be quantified. If people are happy (no matter if just players or cashers)and want to tip whatever they think is appropriate, fine. If nobody tips, fine too.
