Tipping etiquette...

I have only attended a few tournaments, but I have read about ABT tourneys at this forum and Kit's for many years. I do not know that this issue of tipping directors has been mentioned before. It surprised me. Are directors also surprised when they receive tips? Expectation or lack of tip expectation may be a crucial factor in determining tipping etiquette.

I am pleased that Stick and Neil will always tip service personnel. But I disagree that tipping is overblown. I have a huge admiration for hard working people who choose citizen productivity at low wages rather than hand outs. There are many welfare like programs in this country, OccupyWallStreet protest, or low paying honest work. Those who choose the latter will always receive my utmost respect and tips.
