Congratulations on your first tournament win!

Looks like playing on is not much of an error.

I think that biggest misunderstanding here was - if opponent wins this game, he has not won the match yet.

This "misunderstanding" is only possible for someone who already knows something about match equities. The number of people who know enough to do a match equity calculation but who screw up this particular point is probably fairly small.

I think that the most likely misjudgment that would lead someone to take here would be overestimating how many shots Blue will generate as a result of his gap on the 2pt.
