Very true.

But how would you estimate XG vs. flesh and blood in performance here?

I mean, in actual play, how far up the rankings would you look for your opponent, before making the conservative play? My guess is, that most humans won't play their containment (and subsequent doubles) as strong as XGR++, if even as strong as XG 3-ply?! Thus, in actual gameplay, the correct move would be to hit!
