The best play is to cover the blot on the 5pt. Can it be nactated P? Is the following [information] correct?
P = 11/5
p = 8/4 6/4
P = 13/9 11/9Yes, that's right. It's fine to play "through" points, occupied or not.
With the exception of entering portions (inapplicable here), all portions of a P play must be dedicated to making or covering a single point, either directly or indirectly. 8/4 and 6/4 are examples of direct portions. 11/9 or 11/7 is an example of an indirect portion, and is fine as long as the checker continues on and is used to make or cover the target point (where exactly two checkers end up).
If you change the roll above from 42, to 62 or 22 (or 53), then 13/5 is another example of a P-family play. That is true whether the 11pt checker exists or not. 13/5 plays "through" the 11pt (or the vacant 7pt, or likewise 53 plays through either the occupied 8pt or vacant 10pt) in the same way that a routine early game 55P means to move 13/3(2) "through" the 8pt whether there are checker(s) on the 8pt or not.
