Don't you have the midpoints reversed?? :)

Most games 22/12 wouldn't even be an option. I don't think it's right here because we'll be racing while behind (yeh, it's close) and we give Stick full options to run or attack as the dice allow.

8/4* looks right but we still have to decide between 22/16 and 12/6.

I'm voting as an optimist with 22/16. "Sixes don't grow on trees." We give Stick a bonus 5-3 to hit and 5-5 and 4-4 become disastrous so it's not a slam dunk. But the best time to attempt escape is with opp on the bar. Admittedly it might be an overplay but I don't want to get a nice board built up and watch it disintegrate when we go through the sixless desert.

Summary: 8/4*, 22/16.
