I'll take a crack at these.

In the first position hitting gets 8 immediate returns that expose that second blot to attack. I play 9/7 6/1*.

In the third position we only get 2 such returns, and if we roll the prime forward Opponent will sometimes expose a blot for us later on his 5 or 4 point. I play 9/2.

In the second position we get 6 such returns, and the chance of later exposure is small. I play 9/7 6/1*.

I'd expect the difference to be small in the second position, and "clear" in the other two.
