Thanks, Tim. You have posted some great variations. They make it plain that there is much more than containment at issue. The first two positions, especially, make it clear that the risk to Blue comes more from an attack on the 18pt that it does from an escaping White. The second pair of positions are less persuasive. The final one, in particular, seems to be more about the benefits of getting a third builder (6pt, 9pt, 10pt) aimed at the 5pt that it does about the need for outfield control. Mike
