We could try to adjust timing by slotting the 7- and 8-points but given our advanced position (that is, relatively modest blocking structure) I think that could lead to problems. Opp's position is overtimed, meaning he's not ready to hit us. That argues for getting home and bearing off some checkers before he is in position to hit.

How many outside blots do we feel comfortable leaving? We are going to leave one on the 13-point (midpoint). We could also leave one on our 12-point and even another on the 11-point. The latest three blot play looks way too loose. The main reason I see for sending opp back is to prevent him from making an outfield presence to make it difficult for us to get home.

The one blot play is 18/6, 14/2. The downside here is that we put a (spare) checker deeper in our homeboard than we would like.

The two blot play [18/6, 11/5(2)] clears the 11-point completely leaving outfield shooters on the 12- and 13-points. Compared to the one blot play, not only does it leave more flyshots this turn but likely more flyshots in the upcoming turns as well.

I'm going against my instinct and putting a spare deep to minimize the scenario of getting two checkers on the bar simultaneously:

18/6, 14/2
