They were down by 11 with two time-outs remaining. I think going for the TD was right for several reasons: (1) they don't know if a field goal and a TD will tie, because they don't know if they will make the 2-point conversion, so going for the TD now defines their strategy on the next possession, should they get one; (2)The FG is in the high 90% range and the TD is probably in the 40% range, but, besides defining their strategy on the next possession, it will be so much easier, if they make the 2-point conversion, for them to get into FG range rather than score a TD, that it will more than compensate for the different success rates in the current decision. (3)If they fail to score the TD, they will have the Ravens pinned deep and can try to score quickly, if they get the ball back, and onside kick.
