For now I don't see any advantage for play B. Gammons are up for grabs (i.e. could go either way -- opp gets off the G or doesn't) so setting up for an efficient bearoff makes sense. If we cover with the ace then we strip the 4-point which doesn't seem right. As long as opp's 6-point is open we don't fear getting hit.
