How many money games you play?

MET's are a useful tool, but I personally find that knowing 'roughly' what your equity is in a match at any given point is far more useful. For example, knowing the exact figure (i.e. 62.19273%) is useful only if you can calculate what your exact position is worth OTB. However, knowing that you are currently have 62% in your match, and figuring that your position is worth around 70% in your current game, then you know not to reship the cube just yet, hold off a roll or two, see what happens.

Knowing your basic money plays and actions is extremely helpful as they apply to your GG plays and cubes, and give you a good point of reference for most other plays.

There is much to be said for knowing how to play DMP (mostly as pure as you can), how aggressive to be with the cube, depending on the score. Many other aspects are important, these are merely examples.

So, basically I agree with Stick (shock!), but I apply a few extras along the way too - I am sure he does too, just probably a little subconciously is all.

To answer the original question, I personally play roughly 20 to 40 matches a week, mostly they are 'click-click' matches (vs GGRaccoon, or GNU), I dont care overly much about them, and dont try very hard either. I probably play about 10-15 hours of money play per week online (more if my wife will let me), and weekly at the Madison club, about 5 or 6 hours of chouettes. Obviously when money is involved I care more about my play, and I tend to need decent stakes to play properly too. I dont mean super high here, just enough to make me care about the result. These numbers probably sound like a lot to some of you, but really, its not at all.

My general feeling is that I could improve if I studied more, and cared more about my matches. My average rating (according to GNU) tends to buzz around 1900, lower some days (1850), higher others (1950+). I also strongly suspect that the effort required to reach the highest levels is more than I am willing or able to put in.
