I'm opening 43S here now. I just find 43Z to be exceptionally boring. I can't justify my choice based on logic. Misplays favor S over Z, but not by a lot. It just doesn't add to .004. Strategically the moves are similar.

43D is actually an interesting choice as well. As the rollout shows, it does not lose many extra gammons. Getting hit in the outfield often results in an advanced anchor. The problem is that you get no credit for extra gammons won - discard.

I'm not sure about 43U. Does it lead to complicated positions or easy ones? I have mixed feelings. Its tough to believe it could cover .006
