In Response To: OT Super Bowl - Chuck....was late touchdown wrong or really correct? (Sam Pottle)

You can fiddle around with what actually happens on the next two plays but your scenario seems about right (maybe a couple seconds generous to NE). Based upon this it appears to be about 16% GWC error for Bradshaw to score the TD when he did compared to trying to stop at the 1 yardline, then NYG taking a knee on the next play (3rd down) and attempting the FG on 4th down.

If you noticed, NE was going to try and push him over the line if he stayed upright (short of the goalline). I doubt this (laydown) is a play teams practice, particularly the Giants. If you listened to the press conferences, Coughlin never told the team to stop on the 1 yardline. Eli Manning was trying to tell Bradshaw to stop but apparently that wasn't in the huddle but after the play was begun. (At least that's what I gleaned from things Manning and Bradshaw said later.)
