Stick gives the best advice on the second of my original positions. Against my particularly weak opponent, do not double under any circumstances!
White is Player 2
score: 5
pip: 637 point match pip: 89
score: 5
Blue is Player 1XGID=-ACBCBB--------b--abbBbbd-:0:0:1:00:5:5:0:7:10 Blue on roll, cube action?

Staying with my original position (diagrammed above), what would be correct if two equally strong players were involved? Ignore the fact that the cube has not been turned up to this point. Please comment if you have not already done so.
I am going to post my rollouts soon, but first, how should Blue handle the variation below? His board is now closed. Assume that Blue and White are strong players that are equally matched. I am especially interested in any tips I can apply over the board.

Thanks to all.
