D is pretty much out; the main benefit of D is that it wins more gammons, but gammons don't help us here. It wins fewer games and loses more gammons than all the other three choices. Nope.

I generally don't like S - having checkers on the 6 8 & 10 points just isn't very flexible.

That leaves it a toss up between U and Z. OTB, I tend to vaccilate back and forth between the two plays at DMP - the difference between 49.35 and 49.37 is swamped by the errors I'll make later. Here, where gammons count against me, the gammon loss rate is the deciding factor, so I'll play Z.

IOW, U and Z win about the same amount of single points. S and Z lose about the same amount of gammons. Z is a close second in both cases, but close enough in both that it should come out on top AtS.
