I don't understand Chuck's analysis of Problem 3 (I assume that his "Problem 1" is a typo).

Where's the (potential) typo in Problem 1?

Regarding Problem 3, to further elaborate my contentions, gammon loses the match so clearing the 24-point isn't an option. Blue must hit to save the G. So assuming a hit in the next couple of turns, opp will be entering from the bar and at that time outfield blocking point(s) will have some value. I considered both slotting the 6-point (24/22, 12/6) and continuing the run (24/18/16) as alternatives to the play as I chose, as well as making the 11-point (which looks inferior to making the 12-point).
