PR and Winning: Naive Question

That is a terrible approach and your justification has a bunch of faulty logic. You look at just one side of things and completely ignore the other.
1) You think that because you are an intermediate you won't play as well as the bot and will get gammoned more than the bot would. O.k, probably true, but realize your intermediate opponent won't play as well as the bot either. Furthermore his side would probably be more difficult to play since he would likly have fewer forced plays. Both of you being intermediate players is an argument slightly in favor of taking instead of dropping.
2) It is also hard to win a 7 or 9 point match when you keep on dropping cubes that should be taken.
3) You point out that your intermediate opponent will likely make an error in the future balancing the error you are making now. Wouldn't you rather have that error give you an advantage rather than just getting things back to even?
