Cups + Baffle Box

As to the ability to influence the outcome of the dice by the way you drop the dice into the box, if this is the case there is a design flaw in the baffle box.

Don't care. If I have a choice between rolling from a cup directly onto the board or rolling from a cup into a baffle box with only one baffle, I'll choose the later. The many advantages of using a baffle box have already been discussed. I don't care that much about cocked dice or dice on the floor. I care about whether or not the roll was legal. Some of the most awkward situations I've had is when I thought one die hit before the other was out of the cup. I also hate it when my opponent's cup hits the side of the board (or even the playing surface!) as part of his rolling motion. Is that legal? How far above the surface do you have to be to be "discernible?" A baffle box eliminates these situations entirely. That's enough for me.
