OT Instaling updates

If winblows screws up, you can always switch to a Linux distro ;-)

Running two Ubuntu 10.04's, three XP's and one Win7. (Don't worry, they're all low power processors :). Ubuntu is great, particularly the weekly updates which are so much less hassle than Microsoft's.

But the real reason I replied is because IF you mess things up during a Windows operating system update there is an option at startup (sometimes you have to hit F8 to get the startup options screen) to go back to the most recent working build. That can cost if there were other (successful) changes (including 3rd party software installs) after that point but you aren't likely to be left dead-in-the-water.
