9 out of 10 times, when someone makes an illegal play and corrects it, the right play is made within 1 or 2 seconds. Seems like a bit much to demand the dice to be placed back on the board for that purpose. If it takes much longer to make the correct play, then it may make sense to put the dice back on the board.
