get clocks mandatory approved as parftof US BACKGAMMON RULES and I will follow the rules..
"Clocks required" and "Clocks on request" in TD's discretion have been part of US Backgammon Clock Rules since 2007. You'd be following those rules if you so chose to use your discretion, as most of your ABT director peers have.
Seems kind of odd that you'd really intend to be asking Bill Davis to change US Backgammon Clock Rule 1.1 to require that all ABT tournaments mandate "Clocks Required." As if you'd be happier being forced to use clocks ... not that ABT tournament directors are forced to use US Backgammon Rules without modification, anyway.
But Jason suggested clocks "on request or required" in Open and Masters flights. If a TD has no clocks and the supply of clocks depends on the players, then "on request" seems a more reasonable rule. One shouldn't insist that a clock be used if one is unable to supply one.
