As I think was mentioned in another post, if the dice are restored the move is replayed and complete when the dice are then picked up. No room for ambiguity or confusion. But if the dice are not restored they are effectively 'picked up' even though the move has to be replayed. In this case it seems the first legal play, even if the player is just looking at it, should logically complete the move.
