BG is more fun because you're constantly actively engaged. You feel like you're a part of every moment of the game, even when your opponent is mulling over a decision you're doing the same, and then you see him make your play C and inside you're celebrating to yourself that you're playing such a fish.

Poker is where the money is though ... I don't know if I'm a better poker player or backgammon player but I sure know that if I want $$$ I'm heading to the online poker room. I'd bet offhand I'd make 100x more playing poker than backgammon easily if we wanted to do a study. Yes, a large part of this will be the ease and quickness I can find poker tables to my liking whereas with bg you'll sit around and wait or hunt for a game. Poker I can divide my attention among 4 tables np because I'm only playing about 1/4th of the hands, I won't get lost in the action, but if I tried the same with backgammon it'd have a more serious affect on my game. Etc...
