Winning the game avoids losing the gammon.

I can't find even a remotely palatable play that doesn't involve making the 5-point. After doing that, hitting makes it harder for opp to complete his 5-prime (and hitting on the 3-point makes more sense than on the acepoint). Finish up with bringing a checker down from the middie:
