Well in the original posting which some people here may not have seen the question was "Are mathematicians better BG players?". Then you went on to say ..

Of the current Giants list 7 of the top 32 have a math degree that I know of (possibly more). The fraction of mathematicians in the overall population is less than 7 out of 32.

which crosses the terms and made them sound like you meant math degree and mathematician as one in the same did it not?
