1. In this sort of position I think White wins a decent percentage of the time but also gets gammoned a lot. She has a checker on the bar against a four-point board, two other checkers back, and a fourth checker likely to be hit. She's also slightly behind in the race. That adds up to significant gammon danger. However, White has good chances of anchoring somewhere, and Blue still has a lot of checkers back. Take based on winning chances, double based on gammon threat.
2. This looks fairly similar to a position from the previous quiz, except there, both players had two checkers on their 24pt. Since Blue is on the bar against a four-point board, I take as White. As for the doubling decision, it looks doubtful to me, but does the Jacoby rule matter here? If Blue hits and White dances, is Blue TG? Not sure but I don't think so. ND/T.
3. This looks like a continuation of the previous problem. Here the double seems clear and the take is in question. Blue has a longer prime, White is not at the edge, and Blue has better timing. I'd pass. D/P.
